Tom is an Associate at Polson Higgs and leads their Rural team. He brings not just a strong foundation in farm accounting but business advisory experience. He specialises in leveraging budgeting and cashflows to drive his client’s success.

Growing up in North Otago, Tom has developed a passion for farming having had experience on dairy, sheep and beef farms. He takes a particular interest in working closely with rural clients to utilise budgeting software, focusing on tracking performance and improving profitability.

Moving to Dunedin to study accounting, Tom is a graduate of Otago University. He gained his Chartered Accountant qualification in 2015 and was made an Associate in 2024.

Outside the office, Tom has a young family but still finds time to venture into tussock country around Dansey’s Pass with deer dogs, Sam and Mac, for a hunt.
