This role includes the purchase of a well-established herd, providing a pathway for the right person to grow their business in dairy.

Having built their own farming business from the bottom and now being the proud owners of two properties, Richard and Debbie understand the challenges of stepping up in the industry. They were fortunate to have support and guidance along the way and now want to provide that same opportunity for someone driven, capable, and serious about building their farming future.

Farm Overview:

130ha effective dairy farm in Mata, Northland (plus 90ha support block in Pakiri)
300 split-calving dairy cows
Target production: 117,000 MS (highest production since purchasing)
In-shed feeding system to support productivity
Well-maintained infrastructure

This position is not for someone looking to test the waters—it’s for a serious, motivated person or family ready to invest in their own herd and commit to the next stage of their farming career. The current contract milker, who has been with them for eight years, has chosen not to transition to sharemilking, so Richard and Debbie are keen to find the right fit with a new partner.
