A Passion for Drystock
🌱 A little bit about us - Aidan and Lizzie - we have two young children, 4 & 2. We both work full time while managing our beef and sheep operation on the outskirts of Wellington.
We have a passion for hill country and breeding strong store lambs, and our farming policy focuses on this, while also running trade heifers.
Our current sheep policy relates to using Texel Terminal sire over Romney ewe, lambing late August with all lambs weaned in December and sold as stores.
Our docking rate is 148% and weaned store lambs achieve average weight of 30.85kg.
Heifers are purchased as weaners and carried for 12 months before being sold as local trade. We frequently achieve over 250kg hook weight on our heifers.
I have all relevant experience to running a sheep and beef operation from daily on-farm tasks to office and business management. I am also supported by a team of agri-professionals.
🎯 Our Goals
With the decline in the national breeding flock our business goal is to delivering top-quality store lambs by utilising superior genetics while finishing trade heifers with a focus on championing sustainable farming practice to produce high-quality livestock while being environmental and economical sustainable.
We are looking for opportunities as of now.
We are open to exploring all options of a farming partnering to help us achieve our farming goals, that means finding more farmland.
This includes:
Single or multiple Investor or back support to form a partnership to purchase farm.
Leasing
Leasing to own
🤝 What we would value most in a partnership:
A partnership with integrity, that collaborates with all people involved where
investors or agri professionals can bring valuable knowledge, or business management which can enhance overall productivity.
Possible partners could include:
Investors wanting to explore farm ownership via a partnership, with a skilled operator.
Retired farmers, not wanting to sell and who would prefer to lease to the right people.
We a motivated and experienced farming family with enthusiasm for the sheep and beef industry. We would relish the opportunity to form a partnership and bring people along this journey with us.
Furthermore, I would be open to exploring and discussion a syndication farm ownership with other next generation farms with the same passion.
