Optimistic Young Farmer looking for Dairy/Beef Integration Opportunities
About Me
I am a young farmer with plenty of fresh energy that has had heavy influence on a newly established Beef/Dairy business with full input on policy.
Skilled in all facets of Dairy & Beef farming (integrated) I have been with my current employer for 7 years, throughout my time here I have gained real exposure to the opportunities within the Dairy Industry by “adding value” to the business through the form of building equity from rearing and finishing surplus calves for beef & Wagyu (Firstlight Supplier)
I’m currently employed for a successful sharemilking company milking 1270 Kiwicross cows & running 800 beef & wagyu cattle on the neighbouring farm (lease) totalling 850ha. I manage the Beef farm but my background is in Dairy. I have always seen plenty of opportunity in the Dairy Industry but don’t entirely agree with the sharemilking formula.
I have worked very hard within the business and have progressed into a “profit share model”.
I am now looking for a role where I can keep growing as a person and ultimately secure some form of equity for a family farming business with a real emphasis on People, Animals and the Environment working towards a better “dairy tomorrow”
My current Farm owners and Equity farmers are big on detail so I’ve had full disclosure with Halter (Dairy), Farmax & Resolution. The Dairy and Beef farms are run as different entities to ensure we get a real breakdown on cost.
We have strong staff retention within a reputable business so I hope to carry this on from my experience with all employees feeling like they have a real purpose in what they want to achieve long term.

Why I'm exploring farming partnership opportunities
I have a real desire to keep learning and progressing in the dairy & beef sector but not through the traditional form of Sharemilking. I want to be part of a farming partnership where I can call home for 10-20 years with a real focus on community, good staff retention and ultimately developing a highly profitable dairy/beef business that’s resilient with a real emphasis on showing like-minded farmers their own capabilities. Independent advice is also important to help grow the business.
What I would value most in a partnership
Farm Owners that share similar farming goals, open and clear communication and can also give constructive feedback. Someone that has a real interest and desire to work towards positive outcomes within the dairy & beef sector. A clear legal structure in place is important.
Why I would be a great partner
I would like to form a relationship with a party that is built on trust and integrity. My current employers have been very encouraging towards growth and development with my career but now is the time to forge my own path. I’m very optimistic about where the Dairy & Beef sector is heading long term, farm aesthetics are important to me as best practice, as is well kept and maintained staff housing.
